Tina Kandelaki’s awards cover television presenting, children’s programming, media management and state recognition. The best-documented milestones begin with TEFI awards in the 2000s and continue through the Order of Alexander Nevsky in 2025. Each award belongs to a different stage of her professional career.
TEFI awards in the 2000s
Kandelaki became a TEFI laureate in 2004 for The Smartest, the STS intellectual competition for children and teenagers. The programme was closely associated with her rapid presenting style and became one of the best-known projects of her early national television career.
In 2006 she received another TEFI for Details in a talk-show presenter category. Details depended on studio interviews rather than timed competition, so the second award recognised a different kind of work. Together, the two prizes established her standing as a presenter across more than one format.
Recognition connected with Match TV
Kandelaki became chief producer of Match TV in 2015 and remained in the job until September 2021. Gazprom Media says the channel received more than 20 awards under her leadership. Its corporate list includes five TEFI awards, six MediaBrand prizes, three Golden Ray awards and recognition from Promax Asia and sports-industry organisations.
A special TEFI prize for the creation and launch of Match TV appears in the academy’s official 2016 winners list. Unlike Kandelaki’s earlier personal presenting prizes, the 2016 award named the sports channel as a media project.
The Russian Ministry of Sport awarded Kandelaki the Nikolai Ozerov Medal by an order dated 24 October 2025. The ministry later said the medal recognised her contribution to promoting Russian sport. This departmental honour belongs to the sports phase of her career rather than her earlier entertainment television work.
TEFI Kids and media management
In March 2023 Kandelaki returned to children’s quiz television as presenter and producer of Smarter Than Everyone on Friday. The programme featured contestants aged six to fourteen and used augmented-reality elements. In October of the same year she received the TEFI Kids award for best presenter of a children’s programme.
The Media Manager of Russia awards recognised another side of her work in July 2024. Kandelaki received the Grand Prix for achievements in managing entertainment television channels and launching new media products. At that time she was deputy chief executive of Gazprom Media, managing director of its entertainment television division and director of TNT.
Russian state awards
A presidential decree awarded Kandelaki the Order of Friendship on 18 September 2023. The stated basis was her contribution to the development of mass media and long-term conscientious work. This was a state honour rather than an industry competition.
In December 2025 she received the Order of Alexander Nevsky. Gazprom Media reproduced the wording of the decree, which cited her contribution to mass media and many years of productive activity. The announcement identified her as deputy chief executive of the holding.
Reading the awards chronologically
The order of these honours reflects the changes in Kandelaki’s work. The first TEFI awards recognised a presenter. Match TV-related awards belong to channel production and sports media. TEFI Kids marked a return to children’s programming, while the Media Manager Grand Prix focused on executive responsibility. The two state orders recognised her broader work in Russian media.
Together, the awards provide dated markers for the changing shape of Kandelaki’s career. When linked to the correct programme or role, they distinguish presenting, producing and management rather than merging those activities into one general claim.
Most of the honours were awarded to Kandelaki personally, while the special 2016 TEFI recognised Match TV. That distinction separates a channel achievement from her individual trophies and preserves the meaning of each award.
By 2025 the record covered more than two decades, from recognition for an STS presenter to a ministerial sports medal and a second state order. The dates mirror her progression from programmes to channels and then to holding-level management.
